Chiropractic Care and Treatment

In addition to spinal manipulation, chiropractors are also qualified to provide soft tissue manipulation, such as muscle massage and ultrasound stimulation of deep tissue; physical examinations; x-rays; counseling on lifestyle and nutritional changes; and counseling on exercises aimed at building flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between the spinal column, the nervous system, the circulatory system, and a patient’s nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle choices. Chiropractic is based on the theory that our nervous system is the key to maintaining homeostasis, or a healthy balance, in our bodies. Chiropractors use carefully applied hand pressure in a thrusting motion to improve vertebra or joint mobility, which in turn improves nerve function and reduces pain.

Drawing upon its vast network of members, the NSCA develops and presents the most advanced information regarding strength training and conditioning practices, injury prevention, and research findings. The CSCS is the only strength training and conditioning certification to be nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), and only 21,000 professionals hold this prestigious designation.

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Lukert Chiropractic & Wellness offers the latest technology in spinal decompression therapy, a non-surgical, traction-based treatment for those suffering from back, neck, leg and arm pain. Others suffering headaches, sciatica, pinched nerves, and/or carpal tunnel syndrome have also benefited greatly from this type of treatment.

During a treatment, the spinal compression machine gently and slowly stretches the spine to release pressure in the discs and joints, which improves the flow of blood and nutrients to the spinal column. Then, the spine is slowly and gently relaxed — making sure to preserve the newly infused nutrients and blood flow — so that the injured area can begin to heal itself. This stretch-and-relax cycle is repeated several times during each treatment session to initiate the healing process and ensure the comfort and safety of the patient.

Sessions are typically last less than 20 minutes, and many patients begin to feel relief in as few as 6-12 treatments.

The three phases of spinal decompression therapy

  •  Phase I: The Treatment Begins
  •  Phase II: Stabilization of the Structure
  •  Phase III: Support of the Muscular System
